Step Show
Leaders in their own right, Abdul-Salaam wanted to prove that today’s college students are all “leaders of tomorrow”.
Intermission acts included Salem College’s step team, Ghost Riders; Parkland High School band’s drum line; Quashawn Hall, Parkland High junior who did an original spoken word piece; the
International Dance Club of Salem College, as well as local break dancers, B-Boy Collective, entertained the crowd with old-school hip hop poppin’ and lockin’ moves.
Step show winners are as follows:
1st Place:
• Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., UNC-G
•
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., NC A&T
Winners walked away with a trophy and $400 cash prize to help support community programming.
2nd Place:
• Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity, Winston-Salem State
• Swing Phi Swing social sorority, Bowie State University.
Winners received a trophy each.
All proceeds from event ticket sales will go to support the ScottCares Foundation Scholarship Fund.
